Discover: Behind the Scenes, is our 4-day in-person insight program where you'll experience working at a global company first hand. You'll get a real-world glimpse into our business, meet our team, build new skills, and explore potential career paths at Rolls-Royce. It's designed to give you authentic workplace exposure in our actual facilities.

Unfortunately these opportunities are only open to students of the specified age groups – this is to manage the high volumes of requests that we get and create a sustainable option open to as many people as possible.

However, this is something that we are planning to run at-scale year on year, so it may just mean waiting until the next academic year for an opportunity to attend.

Join our Emerging Talent pool to receive exclusive news, insights, event recommendations, and updates about similar opportunities. This keeps you connected to Rolls-Royce and informed about future programs that might interest you as you progress in your career journey.

Unfortunately we aren’t able to tailor our dates to specific school’s set work experience weeks – we’d have to run one every week otherwise! However, we do support successful applicants with getting school permission to attend, and are happy to share more information about the opportunity with your school if needed.

We are unfortunately unable to support with accommodation costs for those accepted onto the programme, so please take this into consideration as you apply. We have a small travel bursary for those that would benefit from some support to get to the site each day, however this is unlikely to cover significant travel/train fares. Please reach out to our team for more information on this.

Due to the group project element of the four Behind-the-Scenes days, we do ask that all applicants who are invited are able to commit to the full four days. If you aren’t available for all of the days, we ask that you look at a future opportunity that you could be available to attend.

Behind-the-Scenes is a competitive application process, and we want everyone to have an equal opportunity to succeed. We’d love to encourage you to share your passion and motivation in your answers, being as specific as you can as to why Rolls-Royce for this opportunity – is there a specific part of our business you’re interested in? Have you seen a particular engine or particular product that you want to find out more about?

It would also be great for you to think about your future skills that you want to develop. These can be technical skills (such as presenting, researching, public speaking) or soft skills (such as teamwork, confidence, resilience). I’d encourage you to think about how different elements you know about the week could help you grow these, such as working on a project with people you haven’t met before, or having the opportunity to share your work with senior stakeholders.
